2008 Gala
IMHoF’s 2nd Induction Awards Gala was presented on October 30, 2008 at the Garden City Hotel. Presenters and special guests included Chris Frantz and Tina Weymouth of Talking Heads, Peter Yarrow, Felix Cavaliere, Grandmaster Flash, Pete Fornatale and Peter Tork. Performances by Blue Oyster Cult, Kenny Vance, Chuck D and DMC, The Good Rats, The Tokens and Jean Ritchie.
The 2008 inductee class included: Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Walter Becker, Pat Benatar, Blue Öyster Cult, Bob Buchmann, Mariah Carey, Aaron Copland, Neil Diamond, The Good Rats, Arlo Guthrie, Marvin Hamlisch, Carole King, Guy Lombardo, Eddie Money, Public Enemy[9], The Ramones, Jean Ritchie, Beverly Sills, Simon and Garfunkel, Barbra Streisand, The Tokens, and Kenny Vance
