THE LONG ISLAND MUSIC HALL OF FAME SECOND INDUCTION AWARD GALA ON OCTOBER 30 AT THE GARDEN CITY HOTEL
The Long Island Music Hall of Fame Second Induction Award Ceremony and Fundraising Gala will be held on Thursday, October 30, 2008 at 7 PM at the Garden City Hotel, 45 Seventh Street in Garden City, New York.
The second induction class includes Louis Armstrong, Count Basie, Aaron Copland, The Ramones, Simon and Garfunkel, Blue Oyster Cult, Jean Ritchie, Carole King, Arlo Guthrie, Public Enemy, Kenny Vance, The Good Rats, The Tokens, Guy Lombardo, Mariah Carey, Neil Diamond, Bob Buchmann, LL Cool J, Eddie Money, Beverly Sills, Walter Becker, Pat Benatar, Barbra Streisand and Marvin Hamlisch.
LIMHOF will also present its 2007 Music Educator of Note Award to Herbert A. Deutsch, Professor Emeritus of Hofstra University and a leading music pioneer, teacher, composer and mentor for more than 40 years. They will also present the 2008 Music Educator of Note Award.

The Long Island Music Hall of Fame (LIMHOF) is a 501(c)(3) museum and membership organization dedicated to the idea that Long Island's musical heritage is an important resource to be celebrated and preserved for future generations. The organization defines Long Island geographically as Kings, Queens, Nassau and Suffolk counties. The Hall of Fame sponsors the Long Island Sound Award (LISA), traveling educational exhibits and a scholarship program. It is also creating a museum home in Port Jefferson where the story of the Island's musical heritage will be told.
